Imagine...

"Imagine accepting the truth..."

I climb mountains that cause vertigo. Traverse internal valleys with internal alleys that would scare the life out of most. Demons ain't just some metaphor when it comes to battle. You won't see it so you can't clear it in your mind. All you see are the results. I don't do it to be seen. I compete only with the man I was 5 seconds ago. I do it because I am thirsty for meaning in a world devoid of it. I can't find it in sweet sounding books or in first rate looks. It's all counterfeit to what once was so I don't even try. Real meaning is hidden in the internal reservoirs of "why"...so I dig. This makes all of me too heavy for most. Too strong for the weak...too pliable for the stiff-necked yet this is why it will always be...some of me will always be preferred to none of me...

I stopped lookin for Neo a long time ago so I entreat only those on their way to becoming Neo-lite...these bring out the better of me ;-)

All About The Need - A Poem by Moe

She gets slippery at night when she's all about the need.  The hunger that exists in longing eyes to feed.  Longing eyes of pain she can't restrain but must because she's all about what's just and right and pure...

Hunger is human and who am I to judge.  I'm the man she'll nudge and text for late night context...just to chill.  The slip, the slide, the soul collide...until.  Her impression requires discretion and I'm the man for the hour...or two.  Without you...

Her saving grace is found in the mirror.  Whose face to find is mine.  To touch me is to touch herself for justification of her inclination and for such a soul...I am blessed for the night...

I see tears when you think wet.  I feel fears as I am let...to soothe and ease with touch or grace.  As I cusp the face of a goddess in my hands, I inhale her essence as plumes of smoke with prescience fill this secret dimly lit room...

That none should ever know how far she will go...in this world of empty.  To find solace in this man of plenty she can't keep...but can have as they are the same.  To forgo the game for a lifetime of moments that time could never relieve...

She gets slippery at night when she's all about the need...and so do I...

The Quality Woman

Conflicted by the worth she knows she carries. A worth defined by the burden of responsibility her beautiful shoulders seem made to bear. Her value multiplied by the genuine care for something greater than herself and the sacrifice of all she wants for the betterment of child, cause or heaven. Taking on these burdens like a champion at war, you'd never know she cries herself to sleep at night...but sometimes she does. Conflicted only because she does her best to measure out how much she should allow for herself as she makes sure that what she carries should always receive the greater measure. She pushes forward under pressure and is not easily moved by tempest or storm. Producing a sheen of beautiful strength that cannot help but to entice. Predators see her as big game while gentlemen hunters do their best to shield her from harm...even from themselves. For some, there will never be anything greater in the world of man than Eve as she was meant to be. Shedding skin to daily scar, she is more than just beautiful...she is divine...

Quality men...do your best to identify these and do what you can to alleviate their burden. To define your quality...ask for nothing in return...

Moses Apollo of Apolinaris

To the right, to the left, we will fight to the death
To the Edge of the Earth, It's a brave new world, It's a brave new world
The War Is Won

Here he is.  With no question about himself unanswered.  Willingly drenched in grace and sin...indulging in each with abandon.  He has studied the facets of his spirit, soul and body.  Now, with only one stone left unturned.  There is no backwind left to sway him.  All that's left is that stone.  The one he's feared for so long is no longer an issue and it is the one stone with a forward wind to catapult him into purpose.  It says one thing..."come to Me and I will give you all you need to be more than just a man".  I no longer fear this power.  I only wait for the time to turn the stone and it's getting closer by the day.  I have always said I am who and what I am.  One that now understands the difference between passion and lust...that God can glorify Himself in both.  That art is a gift from God as an extension of His own creativity.  That drunkenness is not a sin but just a fools state of mind.  That the beauty and admiration for a woman is the natural state of a man as it is the natural state of a woman but whose taste I personally only allow through the substance of real passion and not just the wasted state of lust.  All things that make for the better man and a better me.  For I now understand that all things harmful carry the seeds of an evil that if fed, will bind and twist...whose purpose is an eventual death.  "For ALL things are lawful for me but not all things edify".  Yeah, today I know that I am more free than even I knew.  He is my perpetual friend and He has accepted the man I am and the man I am becoming.  A man with no fear...

This is the clarion call of a God whose gift of grace has been neglected.  Replaced with dogma, tradition and fear.  Whose grace has been supplanted by deeds and tradition as a means to please Him.  Tradition, that has alienated the very ones in need of Him.  Tradition that has stolen their humanity to the point they can no longer even look at the very humans they were called to love for fear of some mythical contamination.  What good is your God if you can't even trust "the Him in you" to take you into the very depths of Hell itself because you mistakenly fear picking up some imp along the way.  If you fear His displeasure by what your now dead law calls sin then you have fallen from grace in the worst way possible.  You see, you look and sound clean.  You follow the sabbath and go to every prayer meeting.  You feel redeemed by your deeds but in truth you are more bound than you have ever been.  You see no one but those that think the same way.  You lock yourself into buildings and you believe this brings you closer to God with every step but in truth what you feel is a false sense of justification to come closer to the throne and don't even realize that you have replaced His gift with your curse.  His grace with your law because in your mind, you have accepted that your deeds are more important to Him than His sacrifice.  You are predictable and fall short of being called "born-again".  For those that are born again are like the wind.  "You don't know from where they are coming or where they are going".  Why?  Because there is no written law that governs them.  Only the law of the Spirit which is an impossible law by the standards of man...the law of love.  Loving Him and loving man.  Something that can only be determined by the true intent of the heart in every single individual.  Try to judge that one and get back to me.  You think you can judge fruit by deed alone?  Plant a fruit tree and tell me if you see the inner workings of the tree as the seeds grow.  Look into the cellular structure of the branches and tell me how far along is the fruits growth.  Yeah, good luck with that lol  Fruit is judged over time folks.  There are seeds I've planted that have born fruit years later but they have been judged by their initial lack of fruit by those that are quick on the judgement trigger finger.  Those that can only find the sides of the spirit or the flesh but deny God the use of their soul...the very element that makes us the bridge between Him and man.

To be human knowing that you are saved by grace and that as a human you are now to operate under the power of God that men could see something from Him they can aspire to is not so simple.  This is easy with a to-do list but with such a list you create another set of laws so guess what?  You need to find this out with Him alone.  It's not found in a building, it's not found in a seminary, it's not found in anything seen by the naked eye.  It's only found in communion with Him.  You didn't think He was there because you and others saw you in sin but He was there when you woke up this morning and waited for at least a "Good morning Lord".  You thought you could only find Him in a church building but He held the door for you in every building you entered waiting for at least a "Thanks Lord".  You thought you could only find Him if you carried a huge Bible under your arm but that very same Word made flesh could be recalled at any time from the Spirit you are now one with.  You thought you could only hear Him from the weekly service when all you needed to do was say "Lord?".  All this time, you saw Him as an external piece in an eternal relationship and you have neglected Him every second of every day because you actually thought He would shun you the way man in his dogmatic tradition does.  Turn that thought off and do more than change your mind...change your heart and begin to live in Him...as you.  A human flawed and tortured by life's questions created to become more.  He's gonna need you in your passion.  He's gonna need you in your rage.  He's gonna need you in your grief.  He's gonna need you to answer questions someone will ask and the answer will need to be more than just "pray".  When your neighbor sitting in a bar needs answers or just someone to listen, He'll tug at you and you will be required to do your part.  All these things that make you who you are will serve Him in a time when humanities very existence will be threatened.  So now, get off your silly, grief stricken, sin sullied ass, turn to your right and say..."Lord?...fine, I'm here"   Feel His smile and listen...

Church folk, I ain't judging you or condemning you but I'm calling you to come out.  Consider for a moment that you are in a system that is still in protest to an abomination and consider also that you will be called soon to rejoin this abomination (those with ears to hear will understand).  Consider also that the very edifices that you are dependant on towards your salvation will soon become obsolete and/or anathema to the new system.  I'm not calling for tricks or modernity.  I'm just calling for us all to return to a time before the disciples became staples in books.  That place and time where fishermen, tax collectors and prostitutes just sat and listened.  They didn't quote Him by the simplistic combination of words but they quoted His intent.  For what is meant in any sentence bears the weight of the lesson way more than combined letters on a page.  It is the difference between the spirit and the letter of a thing.  The scriptures were never meant to bind us but set us free.  These words remain our reference but we MUST reread these words finding out why things were said and if we do this, we will find the human application as the shadow that takes us further into knowing His true substantive nature and all He truly intended for us.  Not just as a people...but as individuals that live in a world where one size does not fit all.  We will not all be the same so don't change a thing.  Just make room for Him to show you how you can become better...and more.  In this you will find His ultimate purpose for your life.  As for me?  Like I said...I am who and what I am...until next time, if there is one ;-)

The Wise Traveler From The House Of Ern Dien – A Short Story by Moe

Li got up this morning as he usually did.  Just a day like any other filled with the standard routine of every new monk within the order of Ern Dien.  His routine included rolling out of bed to land upon a wooden floor where he would find no greater option than to pray before he began his day.  After prayer, he would put on the ring of his order and complete all his morning duties.  All just preparations for what he considered the most exciting part of his day...the passing of the traveler.

You see, there wasn't much excitement upon this hilltop monastery so when a man of great wisdom comes up from the towns beneath the hilltop, many become intrigued.  No one knew his name but people would come in droves to hear him speak.  He hid under a cloak but he spoke with such depth, sincerity and passion that he drew people in.  Everyone knew there was something more to this man but where in the valley could he have possibly come from?  How could it be that such wisdom could possibly come from such low places?  Places that were beneath them all.  In just a few days, Li would come to know the answer to that question.  As fate would have it, Li drew closer to the traveler as he spoke than he had ever gotten before and he noticed something that shocked him.  As the traveler bent over to pick up his staff just before he was about to leave, Li noticed that the traveler wore a necklace.  At the end of that necklace was the very same ring Li placed upon his finger every morning...the ring of the house of Ern Dien.  Li hurriedly ran to ask a shepherd about his discovery and was dismayed to receive a terse dismissal in the place of an answer.  He knew then his only option was to ask the Master...something he understood was against the rules.

This monastery had three shepherds and one Master.  The Master would share the teachings with the shepherds and the shepherds in turn would share His teachings with the monks.  None other but the shepherds were allowed to see or speak to the Master so Li's task was one of great risk to his place in the order.  Yet of all the things he has heard of the Master, he knew that the Master would never turn him away.  He knew that the Master had established these rules for the sake of order and not as others had assumed...to remain hidden.  Mindless tradition had made it seem so but nothing could be further from the truth.  Most just followed the shepherds without question and the shepherds were fine with such unquestionable devotion.  Most shepherds took that responsibility with care and these were proven by their length of their tenure.  Yet the ones that abused such absolute power would be cast out in short order.  So Li knew that those that sought the Master beyond the shepherds would find Him and in doing so...would come into what all the shepherds just understood as the realm they called "more".  Most feared entering this realm as a place of confusion and chaos so they kept to the shepherds’ basic training as it was deemed "safe".  Li wasn't interested in the "more", he just wanted to know about this traveler and he knew that the Master was the only one who could provide answers.

That very night, Li began making the climb on his own as the bedtime gong of the monastery rang.  Tired and hungry, he finally came to the Master's steps and just as he was about to knock on the great door, it suddenly swung open and there stood the Master's servants.  They said nothing but greeted him with a smile and led him to a room with a calmness about it.  In this candlelit room was a comfortable bed on which sat a new set of clothes.  He was allowed to eat, bathe and rest for the night...the Master would see him in the morning.

The next morning Li woke up as he normally did and followed through with all the preparations of his order as best he could given his new surroundings. When he was done, he was instructed to sit in the rear garden in front of the Grand Tree.  This was the tallest tree in the center of the garden and before it...a bench just big enough for two.  This was an odd tree in that it carried a frightening beauty.  Its aroma was bittersweet.  If inhaled deeply enough, it would produce an uncomfortable laughter.  Li was instructed to sit before it and wait for the Master.  He sat waiting and wondering as time passed with no sign of Him.  Several times the servants passed and even though he was tempted to ask them about the Master's whereabouts, he sat patiently waiting.  After a few hours of stillness, the Master came and sat beside him.  Li bowed in nervous excitement, "My Lord!!" he exclaimed as the Master gently grabbed his arm to gently guide him back to his seat beside Him.  They both sat in stillness for some time before the Master...began to speak...

The Master began to speak in assured gentle tones:

"I know why you've come.  You have come to ask about the Traveler.  You have seen that he carries with him the ring of My Order yet he does not wear it on his finger as you do.  You wonder how a man can carry so much wisdom with him and come from places you do not when you are supposed to be from My house...where all truth may be found."  He stood up and walked to the tree.  Putting His hand upon the tree He continued..."I can tell you this: his plight, you could say, begins and ends at the root of this tree.  He was a prodigy of this order and when he was about your age, he made the climb as you have to ask for the "more" only a few dare seek.  Yet the "more" he sought was not for glory or fame.  He sought the "more" so that he could know Me better.  He wanted to please my heart as well as my soul and he understood that in order to do this, he would need wisdom.”  He turned pointing earnestly to Li and said “Wisdom, my child, transcends beyond the intellect of man, piercing his heart to the very atom of his existence...and by extension...My Own.  He came wanting the Wisdom of Solomon.  A wisdom that can break a man's spirit if he is not centered properly.  Solomon was raised with all the greatest teachers when it came to the laws of heaven so he was grounded in the poverty of piety yet on the other side of his life, he came to know the abundance of self as he came to indulge in every pleasure known to man. Somewhere in the middle of both excesses...he found the bitterness of this tree."  And in a faint whisper, He said "...and the greatest power man will ever possess."  "This, my child, is the infamous Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.  She stands in this garden as a testament to all the perils and power of wisdom.”  Turning again towards Li, He said “Solomon was able to identify with and detail the hints of darkness within the light of men as he was also able to identify the hints of light...within the darkness of men.  A task very few men could handle as man is a being created to follow.  He will always choose a side and there is nothing wrong with staying safely in the light but understand that this safety is enabled by limits and limited understanding only requires limited responsibility.  Men that selflessly seek "more" are tasked with greater responsibility as the “more” removes such limits placed upon them.  Some of my greatest servants questioned Me in ways others dared not and they all found themselves many times making decisions I would have never had them make.  Most of them strayed from my path but ALL found their way back.  Yet what was different about them was what they carried back with them...after they had strayed.  They now carried with them a newfound wisdom of the strength found within weakness.  A relatable spirit that was able to reach the heart of all men without the need for judgement.  An understanding of their own humanity and an enlightenment of the true nature of man.  That his strengths and his failings were not dependent on which side of the pendulum he was on.  That virtue and vice could be found on all sides of the spectrum.  This allowed them to see the truth of all things at their core enabling them to determine what kind of word was needed for the wound they needed to heal.  Acknowledging their own weaknesses based on the truth of their awareness to place my essence within them where it was lacking.  This had made them formidable and strong!  Beyond this, they also came to appreciate life at its depth.  That every experience within every second had value because all on this earth has an end.  That the insignificance of man by the virtue of the time he has left on this earth means every life can have meaning...every soul can have purpose.  I despise the fact that some of my monks find that their truth is finite enough that they can look down at the people that live in the valley when the reality is that what truth most of them carry is just enough to lead them safely through this world but not enough to make a real, lasting difference.  It is the difference between watering a tree as opposed to injecting it with the nutrients it needs.  Solomon knew this and so does the traveler you have come to ask me about.  Yes, there is power in this wisdom but it comes at a cost.  Given his nature, he will always be far from perfection but he seeks it nonetheless.  He knows he will never realize his goal of complete wisdom as what his finite mind seeks is infinite but he has found that the journey itself has taken him past the limits most have placed upon themselves already.  It is for this reason he has chosen to live in a world that will not judge him...a world that can not place him enough...to judge him at all.  He carries too much light to live comfortably in the dark and too much dark to live comfortably in the light even though he can exist in both.  He knows nothing will satisfy him because of the futility of most things so he grasps heaven on earth where he can find it.  He finds it in my monastery, he finds it in the art of men, he finds it in the eyes of Eve and he finds it in the growth of his children.  He has silently saved the lives of people from every spectrum in a sentence and most times, he will remain unaware of it...just as he had requested.  He wanted to please My heart and nothing makes Me smile more than this."  He smiled, turned to face the tree again and in a softened thoughtful voice said "The roots of this tree are pure.  As it springs out of the earth, its wholeness divides in two.  True wisdom...my knowledge...is found at the root"  The Master turned to face Li with a smile and began walking.  Li felt an overwhelming sense of peace as his Master just walked away.

As for Li, he climbed back down to the safety of his monastery and he remained content with the newfound admiration he had acquired for the traveler.  Not much is known of Li after his encounter but one thing remains certain…he was never the same again…

Boundaries...

I have a home. In this home resides this man's beating heart. It is fortified by high walls, a drawbridge and a moat. Yet right outside my home, there is a front courtyard where I entreat the guests I have come to discern are without guile towards my soul. These will cause me no harm nor will they add to the weight I tend to bear alone. It is a beautiful courtyard...tended by my both myself and my guests. It is replete with flowers and calm and yes, it too...is gated. Before being invited into my home, I look for the value of my guests and I do so by watching how they tend to my yard. Lastly, before one can be invited into the courtyard, meetups take place in the public parking lot that is just outside the courtyard gate. It is here, where I meet all for the first time. Those that carry with them every angle, folly, thought of invasion and thievery are turned away at first sight. Many...are turned away.

Folks, my home is very special to me which is why only a handful are given keys to gain access to my home. Now some may foolishly mistake this as isolationism but friends...this is called having boundaries. It comes from experience and it is a conscious choice made to avoid and/or be able to mitigate what most dis-affectionately call "drama". Folks, we don't lock the doors of our homes because we hate people. We lock our doors because we love, cherish and are looking to protect those inside...along with all our other valuables.

Folks, I know my value and my worth and I don't come cheap. Can you say the same about yourself? Think on this for a bit. I'm out...

Simply Love - A Word by Moe

For a long time I asked myself "what the hell is wrong with me?...."

I am a man that has struggled with the idea of conventional love for a long time. This love that dictates our life-mate and that individual we are supposed to now answer to. This love that gets us up into flight and at 50,000 feet thinks it funny to run out of gas bringing us to a fiery, painful death. A bit too morbid? Am I too down on love for you? How can a poet that speaks with such eloquence on the virtues of love be so pessimistic about it? If these are your questions, then you need to re-read the first sentence again. I am speaking about "conventional love" and that my friends is not pure love.

This is the love everyone is conditioned to believe in. A love that requires something be done. A love that requires two people in love to say "this must be fate" and because it is "fate" they no longer have any say in the matter. They must now be together. This is that love that becomes co-mingled with men's rules and as such...becomes tainted. It ceases to be pure and is now turned into an idea based on a principal with no room for error. That's when it becomes "work". Work is something you get paid for and love is not a commodity to trade. It is to be given freely with no return on investment. This, my friends, is where we screw it up...guilt by association.

We place unrealistic expectations on love when these expectations involve humans. Where the expectation should be placed on the person, we unfairly place it on this mystical power called love that is supposed to somehow turn us into better people. Love does not make decisions...we do. Love does not create contracts...we do. Love does not break contracts...we do. Pure love is selfless surrender and that is all it is. It cannot be confused with greed though often it is and it cannot be confused with lust...though often it is. It does not ask for anything in return and this is why most people find themselves confused. This is something, we as humans, in this "me and mine" society cannot wrap our heads around any longer. It is the hardest thing to find in this age of "self" where most duty-bound sacrifice is met with a terse "f-that!!!". When you hear the phrase "If you love me..." think long and hard what comes next. Use love as a manipulation tactic and it ceases to be all you claimed it to be. Let that one marinade for awhile...

I believe in relationships and what they should mean. In fact, the best relationships are written standing on a foundation of love but relationships require work and they, in fact, must have a return on investment. It is a contract between two people that find themselves compatible. Agreements and rules are necessary in order for them to work. They are facilitated by love but not enforced by love. People enforce the rules within the relationship yet be aware that people are fallible. They will at one point or another, violate those rules. Breaking the contract and sowing seeds of mistrust is not a by-product of love but of our own humanity. This is why we continue to love them even in failure because pure love as opposed to attraction or compatibility is a constant. Love gives us the will to forgive the infraction and continue within the contract but the choice remains ours. We decide...not love. Yet because love is made the reason for said contract, it is easy to blame by association for the pain the violation has incurred. That is a serious error. Love is not to blame because love had nothing to do with you violating your agreement...that was your doing. Love tried to stop you but for most people, sadly, that is never enough. Character does that my friends and if your mate is lacking in that most important quality, all the love in the world will not stop him or her from failing you. I've seen too many run away from ever loving again for "what it could mean". They stay clear of love because of the scars they carry from a past relationship. It was so at one time but for me, that is no longer the case...

After two beautiful relationships, each one handing all parties our own set of beautiful scars, I would not take back my love for any amount of money. One relationship was near perfect, the other was not as perfect but both uniquely held my love in such ways that I remember the moments of loves' manifestation as moments of pure beauty. Moments I would readily relive with them if given the privilege. A purity of passion and fire that was beyond this realm of flesh and blood. Words lack the expression that kind of purity invokes and today, moments like these...are all I seek. I have had the privilege of experiencing this with others that I found worthy of such a thing and asked nothing from them in return simply because that is the nature of the experience. Now lest one should think me loose...I can assure you that they would not take more than two hands to count. I could wait for the perfect relationship but I have found that for me...there is no such thing. Most will settle for "close enough" and that's OK but as of today I feel almost compelled to stay clear from attaining any new scars because the ones I bear are more than enough to sustain my wisdom. I live, I love and I do my best to remove humanity's failings from the equation. I make no investment and I require none because without this, I find no disappointment. I seek none to own and none to be owned by. Now you may call it a defense mechanism but I have lived a life of a thousand men and I am content to love without all the trappings of ownership. Experience has chosen this road for me. It has drawn out the poet and the lover in me and today...I am who I am.

So I say for those without love...let it overtake you, it is the last pure thing in this world as yet to go silent. For those with no scars...get some, I am thankful for the wisdom they have given me. For those that have been hurt...don't blame love, a humans failure is their own... Be wise in all your dealings and remember..."love may be blind but she is never stupid"...

For a long time I asked myself "what the hell is wrong with me?". "Why can't I be in a relationship?" I can finally answer...nothing.

Code And Conviction...

A funny thing happened on his way to doing the right thing.  He found out it doesn't mean shit to anyone but himself...

There are many that seek to finalize some kind of recognition from the ones they love.  They want to put a final stamp on who they are that no one would ever question them again but sadly, at least in my experience...it is a task for fools.  It seems to make no difference.  The same complaints, the same arguments, the same accusations...all surface in times of egotistical angst.  All look to put a blind eye to all you've said and done.  Motives are questioned and all you've sacrificed is shrugged off as "whatever" just to say "shut the fuck up, I do what I want...who are you to tell me shit".  I keep forgetting that this is all too human.  I keep forgetting that love, tenderness, encouragement and supply are all inconsequential when it come the "I".  There is no more "we" in this world.  Family wanes in the face of "me".  Folks, I have finally exhausted my need to prove anything to anyone anymore.  I have found it futile and worthless.  People see you according to the moment and treat you not according to your value, but according to the air they breathe at any given time.  There is no consistency except that which their desires would dictate.  If in one second, they think they can better you, they will treat you like someone in the way until you leave and when they find they can't...sweets and treats are given to keep you around.  I've been there way too many times and as I found this was a pattern in my life, I decided to let go of it all and concentrate on me and yet...I've kept regressing.  I've held onto some notions I deemed "bits of trust" to keep me from a sense of utter bleakness at the idea of humanity.  I can't do this anymore.  I wait for the day when things will permanently change and I only see patterns to the contrary.  I hold on to hope but hope fades every time those around me regress into everything they said they hated only to come back again....only to regress again.  Even the seasoned have let go of the reigns of order and conviction that they may choose at whim what is right and what is wrong.  The honor in self denial for the sake of steadfastness is now gone.  It's no longer cool to say a thing and mean it because you might feel differently tomorrow.  As I understood it and as I live it...a word is never dependent or adjusted by "feelings".  Without a steady word, there can be no stability or peace of mind and I am tired of fighting for a stability outside of myself when all these things should come naturally.  Without fuss or fight.  Without having to repair or remind.  Logic and reason dictate the air of stability but if logic and reason get in the way of "me" then logic and reason are tossed aside...along with stability and peace.  So herein my air gets tighter every day and my breathing is getting more shallow.  I'm standing in the middle of a chaotic highway watching cars pass by at light speed in every direction imaginable, crashing into everything and what's worse is that those that should be watching with me, one by one...are opting to take part in the chaos.

It's hard to be a man of code and conviction in a world dictated by the air of children...the air of whims.  Where are the adults that once fought for intellectual honesty?  For the immovable standard?  Folks, I'm a fucking relic and an antique.  One that just realized how alone he really is...

Maybe this is just a rant or maybe it's just time for another change.  I really don't know.  I will go through the motions of life as I have been but my heart is no longer beating as it was.  My eyes have dimmed so as not to see anything anymore because seeing only reminds me of all I lose daily.  Maybe if I go on with the motions, my heart will eventually catch up again.  Shit I really hope so.  At this stage...it really has to...otherwise...

I'm just so fucking tired...

Misery...

"...without her I will be in misery..."

She sure hates drinkin alone...

A funny thing happened today...I found something worth writing about to take a break from my work.

I remember the days when I was married.  My friends would always try to coax me into going with them "out on the town" and though some would understand my hesitance to place myself in situations that may end badly for my marriage, others would consider it an a-front to their way of "living"...if that's what you want to call it.  They just didn't understand that my reluctance to join them was not just out of fear that some things may get out of hand...it was more than that.  I loved my wife.  I loved my children and as such, they were my peace.  It was way beyond their level of comprehension that a man could love his family so much that he would choose TV nights on the couch to booming noise and drunken stupor.  Why?  Well, it's simple really.  At that time, I never found myself needing such "escape".  Escape from what?

Misery

Fast forward to single man Apollo.  These "friends" now found themselves with an agenda.  A) Take him out with us so he can attract the women and B) Prove that their lives aren't so bad by converting this man into the same animals they were...lacking sound judgement and self-control.  Incidentally, to which both I said "F*ck off".

People, remain understanding and be wise to intention.  Whether it be from friend or foe and do not allow yourself to be stuck in the downward spiral of the divorcee.  To the tee, every divorcee I have come across has had the same experience.  They all want to "put the past behind them" and friends will use that phrase constantly as if to say "I'm lookin out for you".  I f*ckin hate it when people say that shit.  That phrase implies that we are to forget everything that made us who we are.  We are to start fresh everyday and forget all that happened yesterday.  Yeah?  Well good luck with that.  I look back all the time because I am the sum of my experience and all new experience only adds value to me.  I learned much.  How do I know?  I still "remember".  Folks, the "past is not the past".  The past is all you are in the present.  To seek to divulge oneself of everything obtained from the failed relationship is natural but where we go wrong is when we choose to devolve into everything we think we missed out on by ridding ourselves of even the good we obtained from the so-called "failed relationship".  Where we question and push back lines drawn from deep introspection.  Where we become everything we at one time scoffed at as "sad and pathetic".  There is a reason why clubs are so loud...they drown out your thoughts.  There is a reason why drinks are served...they dull your senses.  There is a reason why lights are so low...they don't allow you to see right.  Am I making any sense?  Now please understand I have nothing against these places and sometimes I might even go for the sake of diversion but if you f*ckin live there every time you have some downtime?  I'm sorry but you strike me as someone running away from an inner you that needs serious attention and guess what that makes you...miserable.

My friends love me and I them but they have a problem...they're single humans lol  Try and teach me anything you want but when it comes to relationships?  Shut the f*ck up.  I held onto a marriage for 17 years with a woman I can still say I love like family and have two great men to show for it.  So you can have your loud music and beer goggles.  I'll be at the jazz club sipping on my "Old Fashioned" while I absorb an art that helps me contemplate on life.  Seems a bit harsh?  Yeah...

The Moment When...

He was working late on a rainy night and was sick as a dog.  He hadn't slept in 24 hrs.  Hopped up on medicine, he sits to take a breather when he receives an unexpected call.  It was her.  The woman he had been bantering with for months was now ready, willing and able to take it to the next level.  She was asking for him now.  As sick and unready as he was, he felt he couldn't pass up this opportunity.  He gave her the address to the hotel he was staying in and went up to his room to ready himself for what he thought would be the best sex of his life.  All that banter, all that flirting...all that foreplay.  The time had finally come...or had it?

She arrives as sexy as he had always imagined.  She was as hungry as he had always hoped.  Her body was better than he had dreamed it would be.  He imagined this would be the moment where all the talk would manifest itself into this lust crazed reality...but in his zeal he forgot one very important point.  He was no where near the place he needed to be physically.  His lack of sleep and illness had him weak.  The medicine he was on didn't help either.  Pain killers that reduce inflammation are not good for areas that need inflaming.  Suffice to say, his grand moment fell embarrassingly flat.  Simply because he was too afraid to say "I can't tonight, I feel like shit".  He was afraid that she would consider him all talk.  He had the desire for her and something to prove on a night when neither could strengthen him enough for the task at hand.  The moment that should have been a beautiful memory is now an ego crippling nightmare.  One he will never be able to fully shake or live down.

People you must remember this.  Moments are "made".  They happen when they are supposed to.  When everything is right.  There are embers that burn high and embers that burn low.  Be patient with them.  Fan them gently.  This gentle foreplay eventually reaches a peak.  That place where the moment you've been waiting for finally happens.  Easing into that place makes it all the more perfect.  Where there is time enough to enjoy each other without distraction.  Where there is no rush to leave and no one to keep quiet for.  Where all parts are working the way they're supposed to.  Impulse is good only after you've had your moment but for your moment...do your best to keep it right.  Keep it as close to perfect as you can and I guarantee you...it will last forever...

Im out...
